Restoring Hope in Pierce County

Every day in Pierce County, thousands of people sleep in cars, shelters, or on the street. They aren't just statistics—they're someone's mom, dad, child, or friend. Behind each person experiencing homelessness is a unique story of challenges, setbacks, and hope.

Together we will rebuild lives

Your support can help transform lives. Together, we can create pathways to dignity, stability, and hope for our neighbors in need.

Hope

Our Mission

At Jo Ellen's, we work tirelessly to lift the spirits and dignity of our community members facing homelessness. We believe everyone deserves a better life and the opportunity to thrive, not just survive.

Our community members want to be contributing members of society—many simply face overwhelming barriers to affordable housing, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and skills training.

These challenges, compounded by the stigma and dehumanization they experience daily, create a cycle that's difficult to break without support.

The Growing Crisis

The homeless population in our region has grown by 11% in 2025, with many individuals likely uncounted in official statistics. This crisis demands urgent, compassionate action.

Hands Offering Support

Our Approach

We believe in a responsive, holistic approach that connects individuals with:

  • Employment opportunities

  • Income stability resources

  • Mental health support

  • Housing assistance

  • Life skills training

Our goal isn't just to provide temporary shelter—it's to help people gain and maintain housing stability while developing the skills needed for long-term success.

Join Our Effort

JoEllen's is fully self-funded and community-driven. We're seeking to grow our network of community partners to address the homelessness crisis through services that bridge the gap to a stable and meaningful future of our community.
