Everyone Deserves A Safe Place To Sleep.

Beloved Community Members,

We, Jo Ellens Safe Haven, are a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to reducing homelessness in our community.

In the summer of 2021, Jo Ellens co-founders, Jacqui and Stacci met a group of six homeless individuals in a single encampment. During their weekly visits to the encampment, four out of the six, where desperately searching for a way out of that life. Summer turned to winter, despite Jacqui and Stacci turning their vehicles into warming stations, lasting four to six hours at a time, one of these individuals still got severe frostbite. Over the course of the next year, Jacqui opened her doors to temporarily house the four. She encouraged them to come as they are and on their terms. Currently, all four are housed, abstain from drug use, and are employed.

Today we are asking for your assistance because thousands of our fellow Pierce County community members are struggling with the effects of homelessness.

We work with families, women, men and youth who are in crisis.

I want to be honest this task is daunting, and we need your help. Our non-profit is applying for grants, but it is such a slow process! We need more immediate help while we wait because we are losing human beings to the elements, untreated mental health crisis, drugs and violence.

We are a low barrier shelter, and eventually housing organization, that offers wrap around services. Our approach is simple come as you are.

Not everyone will want to get clean and sober, and not all can transition from survival mode to joining and becoming a productive member of society.

But there are those who want exactly that. These individuals and families are our target group.

We are striving to raise $100,000. For our shelter and operating costs. With out donations like yours, we won’t be able to provide this fundamental need to our community members.

If you can help, you would be part of the solution. And honestly speaking, this homeless atrocity won’t change until everyday people start getting involved.                                                                Zelle-253-313-6756
